Chinese e-commerce giants Shein and Temu have risen rapidly in the US market and are becoming increasingly popular among American consumers. While changing the shopping habits of American consumers, they have also brought unprecedented opportunities and challenges to the US logistics industry.

Due to the surge in e-commerce demand, the volume of cross-border e-commerce packages has also increased. It is reported that Shein and Temu send more than 1 million packages to American consumers every day, and this volume of packages has strongly impacted the relevant logistics service market.

Previously, the US Customs and Border Protection Agency not only suspended the participation of several customs brokers in T86 (a project that allows goods below $800 to enter the country duty-free), but also strengthened the supervision of incoming e-commerce goods.

Although cross-border e-commerce packages have faced some challenges, now as the situation improves, e-commerce platforms such as Temu and Shein will gradually resume freight from China to the United States. In addition, the peak season for stocking up starting in September is approaching, and the volume of freight will increase significantly. It will create huge market demand for logistics service providers while also promoting innovation and change in the entire industry.
